Circulatory/Swedish Massage: Swedish Massage, also known as Circulatory massage, is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. Oil or lotion is applied to the skin so techniques such as rolling, kneading and percussion can be applied with ease. These movements promote general relaxation and improve blood circulation and assist the lymphatic system in cleansing the body of toxins. Clients undress according to their comfort level and are appropriately draped with a sheet. Circulatory Massage can be performed at varying degrees of depth to the body, please specify at the time of booking if you are in need of a deeper touch.
This hands-on, non-invasive technique works with the cerebral spinal fluid, cranial bones, central nervous system, and soft tissues to release imbalances or trauma. While lying fully clothed, face up on the table, the client may feel subtle shifts as the body’s own wisdom helps it to correct and realign itself to a more balanced state.
Using a series of deep compressions, pressure is slowly increased as the muscle tissue relaxes and invites the therapist’s hands deeper into the tissue. This work can help release chronic pain and muscle tension. Unlike a deeper circulatory massage, which encompasses the entire body; Deep Tissue Sculpting sessions target only one or two areas of the body for which the client asks to have addressed. This work is performed directly on the skin without the use of oil or lotion.
In this work, the therapist gently touches two points simultaneously on the client’s body, thus encouraging a natural rebalancing of the body’s energy between the two points, promoting healing and change. This is a subtle but very powerful technique, especially appropriate for those who cannot receive circulatory massage work for any reason. Clients remain fully clothed and lie face up on the table.
This work helps to alleviate pain by releasing trigger points within muscle tissue. This is done by applying concentrated pressure to irritated areas in the tissue. This therapy is often combined with circulatory massage to help calm and reset the nervous system.
Available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimesters, all modalities can be modified for the comfort and support of the client and her unborn baby. Please specify your need for a pregnancy massage at the time of booking.
This is a non-invasive technique using universal life-force energy to promote healing. Reiki acts to balance and release blockages on a cellular level within the chakras (subtle energy centers) and auric field. This work can be performed with the client clothed or undressed and combined with any other modality.
This method of bodywork recognizes and works with the client’s unique body rhythm. It uses gentle rocking motions and resilience to help encourage all the body’s cells to experience freedom of movement. Slow passive joint movement is also utilized to remind the body of the full potential range of motion. The client has the option of remaining fully clothed.
From the Japanese tradition, this modality combines the use of finger pressure on the meridians and acupoints with vigorous massage strokes to enhance and balance the blood and lymph flow. The emphasis and intention are on cleansing the body through the lymphatic system. Sessions are performed with the client clothed and lying on a floor mat.
Focusing on the muscles associated with specific physical activities, this form of therapeutic massage can be effectively administered pre- or post-event and after injury or trauma to the area. A combination of circulatory, deep tissue, deep transverse friction and trigger point therapy helps to alleviate pain and encourage proper fluid movement which reduces swelling and helps keep the athlete in a state of peak performance.
